What will my child experience in the pre-k class?
Teachers follow the program The Creative Curriculum, a PA Early Childhood and NAEYC approved curriculum of excellence. The program meets all PA State Standards for early learning with a child-centered approach. It is a play-based curriculum in which classroom environment and center activities are key components in the learning process. For more information on this program, visit their website at http://www.teachingstrategies.com
The Pre-K children in Class A also work through the Handwriting Without Tears program. This is an award winning Get Set For School program and involves My First Schoolbook. In addition, teachers work through the alphabet in “print order” and focus more on the printing and sounds at this level.
